A great series that makes 22'episodes seasons in 2026? Is that a dream?


I don't know if you people have heard about an amazing TV show that has reinvented sitcoms, but also just gotten them back to what they used to be. This amazing show is called Abbott Elementary. It's a sitcom whose premise is following elementary teachers and their not-so-great principal with a camera crew for a documentary. The school where everything happens is incredibly underfunded. It gets to a point where teachers have to create opportunities out of almost nothing. Even though the premise can be a little catchy, it is very fun and is all the time cracking jokes.

What I found interesting the first time I heard about this show was its similarity to The Office, with the whole camera crew following them around for a documentary. But what made me stick around to watch it was actually the characters. They were charismatic, relatable, hilarious, and full of flaws. That made me feel a real connection to people who have a job and a life I do not have. Also, the way they show how the public school system works in the U.S. is very interesting. It shows the good and especially the bad. It shows how the district works and how underfunded most of the education system is.

The fact that we also get to see the little kids' actors grow up every season makes everything feel closer to the viewer. I really liked that they stick to the old way of doing sitcoms. Each season has 22 episodes. This felt like a reinvention, but they actually just did what every network was doing a few years back. I hate 8-episode seasons. I don't even get to learn about the characters and their desires when the season has already been over or cancelled. This format made everyone feel much closer to the characters. I also want to highlight the fact that they don't take 3 years for a season drop. It's one per year, which is so amazing. But well, these are just my opinions. Have you seen the series?
